Ughelli - Delta Political Vanguard and Urhobo Peoples Integrity Organisation
have passed a vote of confidence on Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State governor, just
as they pledged to give the governor their support and co-operation to enable
him move Delta State to greater heights.
The groups’ vote of
confidence and support was contained in a communiqué issued after the joint
meeting of the two foremost political groups held at Asaba.
In the communiqué
signed by Dr. Olorogun Ebenezer Okorodudu, National President of Urhobo Peoples
Integrity Organisation; Jerry Eruvbedede, its National Secretary; Michael
Diden, State Chairman of Delta Political Vanguard, and Chief Wellington Oyibo,
State Secretary of Delta Political Vanguard, gave several reasons for their
support and vote of confidence on Governor Okowa.
Part of the reasons
they said were his effective implementation of the SMART Agenda, prudent
management of the state resources and his commitment and responsibilities on of
issues concerning Delta State.
“Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi
Okowa has also done very well in the areas of education, health and peace
building,” they added.
While
congratulating the governor for his success and achievements, the groups in the
communiqué condemned Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the governor of Edo State, for
his allegation against Governor Okowa whom he accused of mobilising thugs from
Delta State to disrupt the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Edo State.
They described
Governor Okowa as a promoter of peace and democracy.
