Everton Vs Crystal Palace: Match Commentary At Full Time

    • All-in-all, a fair result. Both sides went full-throttle for the win, but it was superb goals from Belgian duo Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke that did the damage at either end.
    • FULL-TIME! It’s all over at Goodison, where it has finished all-square at 1-1 between Everton and Crystal Palace.
    • 90'+4'
      Yellow Card Tom Cleverley
Another booking now - a ninth of the match - with Cleverley the recipient for a foul on Zaha.

      90'+3'
      SubstitutionAndros TownsendChung-Yong Lee
So many times in this game, Everton have had the chance to get a cross into the area, but all too often they have failed to do so. As another half-chance goes begging for the hosts, Palace make a change - Chung-Yong Lee replacing Andros Townsend.
    • 90'+2'
STAT FLASH - There have now been eight yellow cards in this match – the joint most seen in a Premier League match this season alongside Middlesbrough v Stoke and Spurs v Liverpool.
    • 90'+1'
Top-class defending from Delaney, who has been immense tonight. Twice he beats Jagielka to the ball, and twice Palace escape from danger.
    • 90'
We’re into stoppage time now at Goodison, and Everton have a corner. Mirallas will take it...
    • 88'
      Yellow Card Yannick Bolasie Yala
It’s a late, crunching tackle from Bolasie, who picks up a yellow card against his former club after diving in on Ward. The winger did get the ball, but caught the man afterwards.
    • 87'
Another opportunity now for the hosts, as Coleman gets free and lofts in a cross. Cleverley is racing on to meet it, but Tomkins times his header perfectly, with Funes Mori unable to gather in the rebound.
    • 85'
Bolasie hammers in a low cross that rebounds up into the path of the onrushing Coleman, who dives in head-first, half-expecting a foul from Kelly, but the ex-Liverpool defender had pulled out of the challenge.
    • 84'
Everton have simply not stopped Palace’s crosses at source so far, with Jagielka and Williams having been bombarded with delivery after delivery into the area. Just under 10 minutes to go now...
    • 82'
MISS! Brilliant from Lukaku, who flicks on a sublime pass to Coleman, but the Republic of Ireland skipper cannot direct his strike on target.

      81'
      SubstitutionBryan OviedoJosé Ramiro Funes Mori
A second substitution in quick-sucesion for Everton - Bryan Oviedo making way for Ramiro Funes Mori.
    • 79'
      SubstitutionJames McArthurYohan Cabaye
A change for Palace now, as before Townsend has chance to take the free-kick, Yohan Cabaye replaces James McArthur.
    • 78'
      Yellow Card Idrissa Gana Gueye
Huge jeers now from the Goodison faithful, as referee Moss deems Gueye’s challenge on Townsend worthy of a booking. It’s a harsh call, to say the least...
    • 77'
      SubstitutionRoss BarkleyKevin Mirallas
A first change of the game now, as Kevin Mirallas replaces Ross Barkley. The home side really need to step up their attacking intent now.
    • 76'
CHANCE! Slack play from Everton as, after Jagielka clears initially, their defenders allow Tomkins time and room to get free in the area, but his header is well saved by Stekelenburg.
    • 75'
Palace are winning every second ball at the moment, and are looking bang on form at the moment, winning corner after corner...
    • 72'
Everton twice fail to clear their lines, allowing Townsend to loft in another cross, but Stekelenburg does well to come out and punch it clear. The hosts are really struggling here!
    • 71'
Zaha does well here, winning a free-kick on the right-hand side of the area. Palace have looked so threatening from crosses, and now Puncheon will deliver another one...
    • 70'
Townsend’s effort is poor, but Palace maintain the pressure. Puncheon manages to pick up possession close to the area, but Barry does well to usher the ball towards his goalkeeper.
    • 68'
      Yellow Card Gareth Barry
A real chance now for Palace, with Townsend having been scythed down by Barry 30 yards out. The Everton man picks up a booking for his troubles.
    • 67'
      Yellow Card Andros Townsend
Townsend has picked up a caution now, this time for a tug on the shirt of Barkley.
    • 67'
OFF THE LINE! So close for Everton, as Barry nods Barkley’s corner goal-wards, but Puncheon is on hand at the back post to hook it clear.
    • 65'
STAT FLASH -Since Benteke’s PL debut in September 2012, only Olivier Giroud (also 19) has scored as many headed goals in the Premier League as Benteke.
    • 64'
Everton have managed to get something of a foothold on proceedings now, but Palace look a real threat going forward. Koeman has options on the bench, and really could do with making a change sooner rather than later.
    • 62'
Chance! Townsend whips in a delightful cross, but Zaha cannot take the ball under his spell. Meanwhile, it has come to light that Palace’s second goal was ruled-out due to a movement towards the ball from McArthur, who was in an offside position when Delaney made contact with his header.
    • 60'
CLOSE! An audacious effort from Bolasie now, who latches onto the end of Gueye’s floated cross with an acrobatic attempt, but his volley sails wide.
    • 58'
Well, it isn’t a goal, with Moss sticking by his assistant’s call. However, it appears as though it may have been the incorrect one. Either way, Everton survive, but they are under severe pressure at the moment.
    • 57'
IS IT A GOAL!? Delaney has headed in, but the linesman has flagged for offside. However, Jon Moss has now gone over to speak with his assistant…
    • 55'
Palace are really on the front foot now, with Everton pinned back somewhat. Coleman will be fuming with his side, who are allowing Townsend and Zaha too much space down the flanks, with Benteke looking on top form now.
    • 52'
      Yellow Card Christian Benteke Liolo
Benteke has picked up a booking, though it is not yet clear what the Belgian - who now has five goals in six appearences against Everton - has been cautioned for.
    • 51'
WHAT A CHANCE! Great work from Bolasie, who gets down the left and slides a perfect pass into the feet of Gueye, but the former Aston Villa man cannot apply the finish despite being presented with what was almost an open net.
    • 50'
      Assist Joel Ward
Barkley's decision to go short from the free-kick merely put Everton on the back foot, but Palace's attack was well-worked, with Ward putting in a great cross for Benteke to get on the end of.
    • 50'
      Goal Christian Benteke Liolo
GOOOOOALLLL!!! AND BENTEKE MAKES EVERTON PAY! Well, that goal can all be pinned back to Everton conceding the ball from their own free-kick, as Palace work a move forward before crossing into Benteke, who powers a sublime header into the left-hand corner.
    • 49'
Another opportunity now for Everton to get the ball into the box, as Oviedo is felled by McArthur. However, Barkley elects to go short and the hosts only end up losing possession. That’s a poor decision by Everton’s playmaker.
    • 47'
There haven’t been any changes for either side at the interval, and Koeman will be looking for his Everton side to quickly turn on the style as they look to seal the win.
    • 46'
Welcome back! Palace have got the second-half underway! Pardew’s side, who were 2-0 down against Sunderland last week before coming back to win 3-2, have come from behind to win in two successive Premier League matches just once before - January 2015.
    • Palace have played well, though, and will not be downcast about their chances of picking up a result this evening. However, they must look to get Christian Benteke more involved in the final third.
    • It has been a closely-fought, but entertaining, affair at Goodison Park so far, with Romelu Lukaku’s sublime free-kick having put the hosts ahead. However, there is some debate as to whether it should not have been a foul the other way, with Phil Jagielka appearing to inadvertently handle the ball under pressure from Damien Delaney.
    • HALF-TIME! Barkley takes the free-kick, but is a poor one, and referee Moss quickly sounds his whistle. At the break, it is Everton 1-0 Crystal Palace.
    • 45'+1'
      Yellow Card James Tomkins
And they may well have the chance to do just that, with Bolasie drawing Ledley into a clumsy foul. Tomkins doesn’t agree with the decision, and is duly booked for dissent.
    • 45'
Despite Everton’s goal, Palace still look a threat, with the long passes into Benteke proving particularly effective. However, the hosts are moving urge all around nicely, looking to double their tally before the interval.
    • 42'
Superb last-ditch defending from Coleman, who gets back to prevent Benteke latching onto Ward’s diagonal. Everton quickly kick-start a counter, with Cleverley eventually drilling a pass into the feet of Barkley, who in turn feeds it into the onrushing Coleman, with Kelly well-placed to make the intervention.
    • 40'
Lukaku has now netted four goals in his last five top-flight appearances against Palace. Only Tim Cahill and Duncan ferguson have scored more Premier League goals for Everton than the Belgian.
    • 38'
STAT FLASH - That was Lukaku's 65th Premier League goal but the first to have come from a direct free-kick.
    • 36'
A hint of controversy about that opener, perhaps, as Jagielka clearly handled the ball during that earlier collision with Delaney. However, it was purely instinctive from Everton’s skipper, who was running the risk of a kick straight to the face. Palace may well feel aggrieved, though.
    • 35'
      Goal Romelu Lukaku Menama
GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!! LUKAKU FIRES HOME THE FREE-KICK! What a strike from the Everton forward! He gets his free-kick up and over the wall, but the effort is flat enough to leave Mandanda helpless as it nestles into the back of the net.
    • 34'
Dangerous play from Delaney, who is penalised for a high-boot in the face of Jagielka, who had made a lung-bursting run to the edge of Palace’s area. Barkley and Lukaku are stood over the ball.
    • 33'
Good defending from Oviedo, as he denies Zaha getting a cross in. The corner duly comes in, with Stekelenburg flapping at the ball - though referee Moss quickly signals that Everton’s goalkeeper had been fouled by McArthur.
    • 31'
Palace have been impressive so far, as Pardew’s slide have worked their way into this game, with Townsend and Zaha offering plenty of threat from either flank. Everton have just eased off the pressure somewhat, however, and Koeman will be looking for his side to up the tempo again sharply.
    • 29'
The corner routine is a peculiar one, with Barkley picking out Coleman on the edge of the area. The full-back dummies to his right before switching onto his weaker left, but his resulting effort flashes well wide.
    • 28'
Barkley’s cross is a good one, but Palace clear it. Barry latches onto the loose ball, threading it through to Coleman, but Tomkins is over to make the block.
    • 26'
      Yellow Card Jason Puncheon
A free-kick for Everton now, as Lukaku is brought down by McCarthur. Though it is Puncheon who goes into the book, albeit for dissent.
    • 24'
BLOCKED! Townsend drives the free-kick straight into the wall, with Coleman quickly out to regain possession for Everton and set Bolasie away. The forward bursts through Palace’s retreating ranks, but rather than going for goal, he elects to pick out Lukaku, but the pass is a poor one and the chance eventually breaks down.
    • 23'
A really good chance now for Palace, as Coleman fouls Townsend 25 yards out from goal, in a central position. The ex-Tottenham winger is standing over the set-piece...
    • 22'
STAT FLASH - Benteke has scored four and assisted one more in five Premier League appearances against Everton. His impact has been limited so far, though.
    • 20'
Everton work a neat move forward towards Lukaku, who sets himself before hitting a low strike goal-wards, but it does not trouble Mandanda.
    • 17'
      Yellow Card Bryan Oviedo
Oviedo’s issues with Zaha are continuing, and the defender will now have to be extra careful for the remainder of this game after picking up a booking for a robust challenge on the England forward. Puncheon floats in the free-kick, but Benteke’s header goes wide.
    • 16'
Again, Zaha presents a real danger down the right, with Oviedo unable to match the pace of the former Manchester United winger, who drives towards the byline before drilling in a low cross, but Stekelenburg is equal to it.
    • 15'
UNLUCKY! Superb play from Cleverley, who picks out Oviedo with a brilliant lofted pass. The Costa Rica defender is scythed down by Delaney but, fortunately for Palace, he had just strayed offside.
    • 13'
Palace do look a threat on the counter, with Oviedo in particular failing to close down Zaha, who is consistently looking to get a cross in. Everton manage to forge a break themselves, however, but Barkley is too sluggish on the ball and ends up thumping a strike well over.
    • 11'
Palace have won more Premier League games at Goodison than any other away ground. It is a raucous atmosphere at the moment on Merseyside, with the hosts having started brightly, albeit without any reward as of yet.
    • 9'
CLOSE! To the chagrin of the Palace fans, Bolasie curls in a wonderful cross from the left. Lukaku rises to meet it, but the Belgian cannot quite make the necessary contact.
    • 8'
Everton are keeping up the pressure, with a second corner from Barkley again picking out Williams. The ex-Swansea City man looks to tee up Bolasie, but the DR Congo winger is somewhat flat-footed, and cannot get his shot away.
    • 7'
More patient build-up play from Everton, as Zaha is forced to track back and deflect Coleman’s cross out of play. Williams wins the header from the resulting set-piece, but it is deflected out of play.
    • 6'
Good work from Coleman, who manages to get around Kelly and sprint into the box. However, Delaney - captaining Palace on his 600th career appearance - is on hand to prevent the Irishman getting through on goal.
    • 5'
It’s certainly more of a 4-3-3 system from Everton, with Cleverley doubling up with Oviedo. However, the duo both switch off, allowing Ward to whip in a cross, which Williams clears. Townsend drills in the resulting corner, but the Wales skipper is again on hand to head it away.
    • 4'
Tonight’s game marks Koeman’s 100th fixture in the Premier League. The Dutchman has garnered 49 victories so far, and will be looking to make it 50 this evening. As I type, Zaha manages to drive down the right, but his path is blocked by Williams.
    • 2'
A quick start from the hosts, as Bolasie looks to make an immediate impact against the club he left in August. The winger twice picks up room down the left, but he sees successive crosses blocked.
    • 1'
KICK-OFF! We are underway at Goodison Park, with the hosts getting proceedings off to a start at the sound of Jonathan Moss’s whistle.
    • There’s plenty of pace in Palace’s line-up, with Zaha, Jason Puncheon and Andros Townsend all operating behind the figurehead of former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, making his first return back to Merseyside since leaving Anfield in the transfer window. History is on the visitors’ side coming into this fixture, with Palace unbeaten at Goodison in the last three campaigns - having won 3-2 in two of those meetings.
    • It’s a bit more of a compact system from Koeman by the looks of it this evening, who was not impressed by his side’s display in the first-half against Bournemouth. Cleverley seems likely to start on the left-side of midfield, either in a central three or out on the wing, and that should offer Bryan Oviedo, in for the injured Leighton Baines, more protection down the left flank. There is of course a start for Yannick Bolasie against his former club.
    • Likewise for the visitors, there is only one alteration from Pardew - who has been one of the names linked with the now vacant England job - compared to the starting XI from the last-gasp win over Sunderland, and it comes in midfield, as Yohan Cabaye makes way for Wilfried Zaha, who has overcome his recent injury to start at Goodison. They are however without the injured Scott Dann who netted in the corresponding fixture last term.
    • So, just the one change from Koeman who, after praising the impact of Tom Cleverley in last week’s defeat to Bournemouth, hands the England midfielder his first start of the Premier League season in place of Kevin Mirallas. However, there has also been a switch on the bench, with youngster Tom Davies coming into the squad and, rather surprisingly, Gerard Deulofeu missing out.

    • We have team news from Goodison Park so, without further ado, let’s check on the full squads. We’ll start off with the hosts…
    • After a strong end to the transfer window, Palace have finally clicked into gear, having won their previous three league fixtures. The only blip so far in September came in the EFL Cup, with Alan Pardew’s men falling foul of their manager’s former club Southampton.
    • Ronald Koeman has enjoyed a fine start to his tenure on Merseyside since his arrival from Southampton, but two back-to-back defeats, with Everton having come unstuck against Norwich City in the EFL Cup in their last home outing before slumping to a 1-0 reverse at Bournemouth last time out on league duty, have dampened spirits somewhat.
    • Hello and welcome, football fans, to this LIVE coverage of Friday’s Premier League action, as Everton play host to in-form Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.
